IHSA’s Health Institute provides training for Head Start staff who work with families on all aspects of health including physical and mental well-being including oral health, developmental screening, obesity prevention, health insurance, program monitoring, safety, emergency preparedness, and much more.
Audience: Managers, Consultants and Coordinators all in the areas of Mental Health, Nutrition, and General Health as well as Program Directors, and Family Service Workers looking to expand their knowledge in the area of health.

FEATURED SESSION during Health Institute: Your Journey Together: Building Resilience of Children and Families
Your Journey Together is a strength-based curriculum designed to promote the social and emotional wellbeing and resilience of vulnerable children and families. This Train-the-Coach event will teach you how you can empower parents to promote safe, trusting, and healing environments—all key elements of a trauma sensitive program. Learn how to teach parents to use every-day routines, activities, and interactions to promote resilience in young children and parents as well.
