More Details on the event can be found at: Early Impact: Quality Improvement Summit Early Impact: Quality Improvement Summit co-hosted by Early Intel and Pennsylvania Head Start Association June 18 – 20, 2019 Harrah’s Resort 777 Harrah’s Blvd Atlantic City, NJ 08401 he Pennsylvania Head Start Association is co-hosting a new event in June and hoping that you will join them. PHSA is partnering with Early Intel to host a Summit focusing on the use of program data in early childhood to support continuous quality improvement. The conference was very well received (it sold out) when it was first held in November last year in Long Beach California. Details on the event can be found at: Early Impact: Quality Improvement Summit The Summit is designed for Head Start leaders looking to build their teams’ capacity to measure quality and foster a culture of inquiry, to improve child outcomes. We are assembling presenters that will address everything from improvement science to predictive analytics, to new technologies that streamline child assessment, and of course we’ll be looking at how all of this relates to the Performance Standards and federal monitoring.

Illinois Head Start Association (IHSA) invites you to submit a proposal to present at the 2019 Annual Training Conference and Parent Leadership Conference on Wednesday, March 27- Friday, March 29, 2019. The conference will be held at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center / 201 Broadway / Normal, IL 61761. Applications will be accepted until close of business (5:00pm) on Friday, November 30, 2018. Presenters will successful submissions will be notified on or before Friday, December 14, 2018. Quality Enrichment Circles (QEC’s) otherwise known as “communities of practice” are held three times a year with your peers/colleagues. During the meeting we will share ideas and insights, help each other solve problems and develop a common practice or approach to your content area. QEC’s are a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and want to learn how to do it better. QEC groups will meet three times…Fall 2018, Winter 2019 and Spring 2019. 2018 Election Letter Illinois Head Start Association FAQ on 2018 Elections Form for Nominating Someone Else Self Nomination Form AGENCY LETTER NEEDED FOR STAFF AND PARENTS TO VOTE AND RUN FOR OFFICE AGENCY LETTER NEEDED FOR STAFF AND PARENTS TO VOTE The IHSA Board of Directors will be electing the following positions to the Board during Component Meetings (begin at 4:15 pm) on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria. We hope you consider running and also share this information with staff and parents. Please have conversations about running for the Board of Directors prior to attending the conference. Or do you want to be the authorized voting delegate from your agency? If yes, please read the “Frequently Asked Questions” that are above so you are prepared and ready on the day of elections. You will find nomination forms, self-nomination form and nominating someone other than yourself above. Also above are sample letters that can be utilized by your agency. They don’t have to be used but we want to make this process as easy and clear as possible. Please remember letters must be on agency letterhead and please have them completed prior to arriving at the conference. Remember, if you are a parent and/or staff member and you want to vote during the elections you need a letter from your agency. Only one member from your agency is allowed to vote in each component. Remember, if you are a parent and/or staff member and you want to run for a position on the IHSA Board of Directors you need a letter of support from your agency. Friends and Directors are not required to bring a letter of support for voting and/or running for a position on the IHSA Board of Directors. Please call the association office with any questions.
